We started off our Wednesday with our first Leader in Me Assembly!
The third grade led the assembly by telling us about all 7 Habits!
They also won the monthly dance off trophy!

This past weekend Ms Hammons traveled to Austin, Texas to pick up a new book for her students! The book is called Just Because by Matthew McConaughey. Mr McConaughey signed the book for the Pre 1st class and took a picture with Ms Hammons. The students loved the book and are doing several fun activities with it this week!

Smile! It's Friday!
We will be having a canned food drive next week!
Students can bring canned food items to their classroom. Cans will be counted at the end of the week and the class with the most cans collected will win an ice cream party!
Items needed: Canned foods, peanut butter, Ramen, granola, cereal, mac & cheese, etc.
All donations go to create an SGS Food Pantry for students and families!

Mrs. Christie spent many years as a classroom teacher at Stilwell, but for the past few years she's been our Reading Interventionist!

Pop's Bridge was the weekly story in Mrs. Davis' class. To go along with their reading, they did a bridge STEM and bridge research project!

This week, in Mrs. Turner's class, they learned about all things light!
They explored shadows and lighting through hand puppetry while learning about story elements.
They did a leaf rubbing to lock in their new sound /l/.
They are very good at referencing previous math lessons in their notebooks to help them with current math problems!

Ms Brewer's and Ms Clark’s classes celebrated August birthdays with cupcakes and fruity drinks. Then they watched Hoodwinked to compare to their story "The Trial of Cardigan Jones."
