Dear Stilwell Public Schools Families, Staff, and Community,
As we prepare for the 2026–2027 school year, our district leadership team has been working to review district operations, schedules, and priorities for the year ahead.
As part of that process, revisions have been made to the 2026–2027 District Calendar that was previously shared with our community.
These revisions include changes to school operating hours, holidays, scheduled breaks, and other important dates.
We recognize that families and staff rely on the district calendar when planning work schedules, appointments, childcare, travel, and family activities. For that reason, we want to clearly communicate that the newly published calendar should replace all previous versions.
We encourage every family and staff member to review the revised calendar carefully.
During the coming weeks, Stilwell Public Schools will continue sharing important information to help students, families, and staff prepare for the beginning of school.
This year represents an opportunity for us to strengthen communication, build relationships, and work together toward a shared purpose: serving the students of Stilwell Public Schools.
Thank you for your continued support of our students, staff, and schools. I look forward to meeting more of our families and community members throughout the year ahead.
Sincerely,
Dr. Hicks
Superintendent

Exciting things were happening at SMS this past week! We love celebrating not only our students, but our staff as well as we count down the days until summer break.
On Wednesday, we celebrated Administrative Professionals Day with a fun surprise for Mrs. Alese—staff members each brought her favorite soda so we could really make her appreciation POP! SMS couldn’t do what we do without you, Mrs. Alese. Thank you for being you!
Mrs. Barton’s 8th grade FCS Basics class also wrapped up their “Plan a Party” assignment as part of their budgeting unit—and whoa baby, did they deliver! Students planned and hosted a baby shower for three expecting faculty families:
Hannah & Cameron Williams
Daryn & Kennedy Powell
Hanna & Brant Caton
Students selected a theme, planned the menu, shopped for decorations, decorated, cooked, hosted, and cleaned up—all while staying within budget. It was a reel-y special celebration for three fin-tastic teachers!
Staff also surprised Mrs. Turman a little early for Principal Appreciation Day. We are oh-fish-ally grateful for Mrs. Turman—your leadership keeps SMS hooked on success!
