MRS. DANA COCHRAN
"I'm super excited to be back at SGS! I love seeing all of our families and look forward to all of the great things to come. I'm most excited about having an IMPACT on all of our students and the community. I'm also excited about doing morning announcements!
I have a Bachelor's of Science in Elementary Education, a Bachelor's of Business Administration in Accounting, and a Master's of Education in Special Education.
I have taught all ages of students from pre-K to Seniors and multiple subjects from English to Algebra to Biology.
Our school is where I grew up. From Kindergarten with Mrs. Harris through Mrs. Eversoll, Mrs. Roye, Miss Morton, and Mrs. Kester, Stilwell Grade School laid the foundation for everything I've done. Now, being in the same principal's office I visited as a child, I hope to create the same school culture and make the same impact on our students. My hope is they leave SGS ready for success.
Favorite subject: Math and Science, but also English and History...oh and Music and Art and Drama...I guess I really just like them all.
Favorite snack: Popcorn with lots of butter and salt
Favorite hobby: I don't have a lot of time for hobbies but I like to read. I also enjoy watching sports - OU sports in particular.
Something that may surprise our students: I got sent to the principal's office in 1st grade and got swats twice in 2nd...and my report card noted that I was "very talkative" more than once. I once had to sit behind the bookcase in Mrs. Kester's class because I would not stop talking during class.
My hope is for Stilwell Grade School to be a place where our students thrive, where they feel safe and loved, where they can be challenged and they are held to high standards! We have some of the brightest and hardest working students around and I can't wait to see what they accomplish!"
