I am truly honored and deeply grateful to have been selected as SGS Teacher of the Year. To be recognized by fellow educators, individuals whose dedication, talent, and compassion I admire every day, means more to me than words can adequately express. This recognition is especially meaningful because it comes from colleagues who understand the heart, commitment, and perseverance that teaching requires.

Over the past thirty-eight years, I have had the privilege of dedicating my life to educating students, and the rewards have been immeasurable. Teaching is not simply a profession; it is acalling that continually renews itself through the growth and success of children. Few moments compare to the joy of watching a child read independently for the first time or finally grasp aconcept they once found difficult. Those breakthroughs, sometimes quiet and subtle, sometimes filled with excitement, are powerful reminders of why I chose this path. I genuinely love my students, my work, and the school community that surrounds me. Each day brings new opportunities to encourage, inspire, and support young learners as they discover their strengths and build confidence. I am deeply grateful for the chance to make a difference in their lives, knowing that even small acts of guidance and encouragement can leave a lasting impact.

Being named Teacher of the Year is an incredible honor, but the true reward has always been the relationships formed, the lessons learned, and the growth witnessed in my students. For that, I am thankful beyond measure.

To my SGS family.
